| Determining the Meaning of Challenging Behavior will provide the information needed to understand the purpose of challenging behavior. It includes learning about the process of Positive Behavior Support (PBS). This session explores how challenging behavior occurs and is maintained through environmental factors. Workshop attendees are presented with methods and case examples for analyzing challenging behavior, and an opportunity to practice these techniques. Finally, participants will learn how to use multiple sources of data to determine the function of challenging behavior and apply those skills. |

Positive Behavior Interventions and Support |

| In this session, participants learn how to use the process of Positive Behavior Support (PBS). PBS is a process to develop effective interventions for children with the most persistent challenging behavior. We will use the functional assessment information from the previous session to prevent challenging behavior as well as to teach replacement skills. |

Understanding the Meaning of Behavior in Infants & Toddlers and Intervening Effectively |

| This session describes two important concepts for teaching and learning: The child’s environment and intervention strategies. These key concepts can positively impact the child’s daily interactions. Participants learn how intervention can be “embedded” into the child’s environment for a positive outcome. |

| Come and share an amazing time with “The Bug Lady”. She has animals ranging from “Charlotte” the tarantula to “Tucker” the Amazon Parrot. The Bug Lady shares the benefits of having animals & insects in your program. She will also discuss lesson plans and curriculum that can be taught throughout the year regarding the science of animals, insects, and nature. Come and watch feeding demos with different kinds of lizards. Learn about habitats, diets, and the easiest and least expensive ways to maintain animals in your classroom. Many animals & insects can be handled. It’s a fun time for all- especially for the animals…they love the attention! |
