FAMILY EDUCATOR
LOCATION:       0-3 Site
HOURS:              40hrs/wk, 52 wks/yr
SALARY:            $13.60 per hour                              

REQUIRES:                         
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services field, Family Development or Family Life Education required.  Knowledge of child development and community resources helpful.  One year experience working with families and/or experience with infants and toddlers in a group setting.  Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to crisis situations in the families.  Must pass Physical Screening and negative TB test.  Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Must be 21 to apply and have valid Kansas driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and current valid liability insurance for personal auto. 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:           
Develop child’s intellectual skills utilizing basic DAP. Support parents in their role as primary care givers and educators of their children.  Assist in determining where the focal point of case management work will be assigned with a client centered approach.  Work effectively with all center staff utilizing a team approach.  Maintain all current staff required certifications in all areas.  Provide education workshops to other community agencies as agreed upon with coordinator and director.  Maintain program standards.
