CHILD START PRESCHOOL CHILDREN receive donated hats and mittens

PHOTO OP:  Child Start children will receive hats and mittens donated by community members. Campaign sponsors will receive recognition.

WICHITA, KAN. – Child Start is celebrating a successful hats and mittens drive on Wednesday, December 16 from 9:15 to 10:30 at Martin Luther King Head Start preschool, which is located at 2727 E. 25th Street North in Wichita.

During the celebration, campaign sponsors and volunteers will have an opportunity to distribute donated hats and mittens to children who attend the Martin Luther King Head Start site. The children have prepared special decorations and activities.

Child Start received over 1000 children’s hat and mitten sets, enough for every enrolled child. Many anonymous contributors donated new or handmade items for the young children served by Child Start’s Head Start 0-5 Program. Workplaces, congregations, and schools adopted the Child Start hat and mitten drive for their holiday giving.

Child Start is a private, nonprofit agency in operation since 1958 promoting early childhood experiences that prepare children for success in school and beyond.
